Oscars 2020 has been fantastic, if you have watched it you would have seen Joaquin Phoenix's acceptance speech. His speech was a sociopolitical epic. He discussed mainly about injustice in the society.
".......I've been thinking a lot about some of the distressing issues that we are facing collectively. ................. I think, whether we're talking about gender inequality or racism or queer rights or indigenous rights or animal rights, we're talking about the fight against injustice. We're talking about the fight against the belief that one nation, one people, one race, one gender or one species has the right to dominate, control and use and exploit another with impunity.
.........We go into the natural world, and we plunder it for its resources. We feel entitled to artificially inseminate a cow, and when she gives birth, we steal her baby, even though her cries of anguish are unmistakable. Then we take her milk that's intended for her calf, and we put it in our coffee and our cereal. .................. we can create, develop and implement systems of change that are beneficial to all sentient beings and to the environment."
You might wonder how can blockchain possibly be linked with an Oscar Speech?
The problem of 'injustice' is partially due to human error and mostly due to system error (indirectly created and caused by humans). Blockchain is the only tool to completely eradicate this injustice. Blockchain brings all the people together and keeps everyone accountable, thereby balancing the system. In this case, blockchain mainly disrupts the supply chain mechanics of any product/item.
How? Let us take an example of how blockchain disrupts the dairy industry! Most of us have at least one milk product at home regularly and only a few people are aware of the various stages needed for the product to be produced and reach your hand. From feeding the cows to milking the cows to processing the milk to distributing the milk to reach you. The supply chain is highly complex and vast and hence the trustworthiness. Blockchain is the only solution to maintain the quality and trust of these products.
Dairy supply chain is plagued with various questions and you yourself have doubts like
- Where was the milk produced?
- How is the hygiene of the cattle shed and milking process?
- What do the cows eat?
- What artificial preservatives are added to make it long lasting?
- What temperature is maintained?
- What are the taste inducing chemicals?
- How is the storage system?
- many more......
Blockchain in only solution to all your doubts. It tracks, traces and documents each and every stage involved in the supply chain from the cow to the market and presents a proof for its quality and hence is trustable. As a consequence, blockchain gives complete traceability to the consumers thereby increasing the trust in the product and hence a direct increase in demand for the product.
Blockchain not only disrupts the dairy industry but indeed every facet of our life can be drastically improved. There by reaching an overall balance in the system.
Blockchain's potential can bring out positive changes in many industries and businesses including the supply chain industry. Companies like Uniris are exploring ways to filter the way supply chains currently work and adopt the change that the blockchain technology has to offer. Uniris takes this a step further by increasing better traceability with Transactions Chains and providing a highly scalable solution to handle any number of processes and transactions in the network.
While we talk about systems of change through blockchain, there is clearly not yet mass adoption of the blockchain technology. This is due to the various technical and financial complexities involved in building the blockchain platforms.
Uniris, is the system of change the world is looking for and Uniris is not only building the P2P infrastructure to build various projects but also building the projects itself like identity management, marketplace, smart city, IoT. Once the businesses understand the importance of blockchain and Uniris's potential, they will definitely build their businesses on Uniris.
Already, the Strategic Committee of the Security Industries Sector (CSF) part of the French National Council of Industry, identified Uniris to contribute to the security of major events such as the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
